Included in Nike’s 2023 Chinese New Year Capsule is this Jordan Legacy 312, embracing the traditional hues that help celebrate the cultural event. This year the Swoosh has really taken the rabbit theme quite literally, adding bunny tails and faux-rabbit fur to the different silhouettes within the collection. The Air Jordan Legacy 312 has managed to escape the overt references, instead embracing a range of pastel colours which complement an underappreciated silhouette.

Combining elements from Air Jordans 1-3, you might have assumed there was no room for failure, yet more doesn’t always mean better. However, this release keeps things fun with its light-hearted colour palette and CNY-inspired accents. The Wings insignia has been given a royal treatment, doused in a gold foil that sits on the ankle support collar. The red tongue label and insole are present just as it is on the rest of the collection, a colour that is so key to the Chinese New Year tradition. The strap is covered in pastel green with an embossed gold Nike spell out, matching the Jumpman logo on the heel. The brown and cream midsole balance out the upper and as a side note, makes a great donor pair for anyone with the OG Air Jordan 3 “Mocha” from 2001 that need a replacement.
